What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of over 100 compounds from the cannabis plant, making up 40% of the plant's extract. Commercial CBD is most often derived from hemp, a strain of cannabis with less than 0.3 percent THC. Despite the negative connotation or “high” imagery that comes to mind when you hear cannabis, CBD doesn’t alter your behavior in any way. It’s a safe, non-addictive, natural substance that is popular with consumers looking for an alternative to pharmaceuticals. The intoxicating feeling from smoking or ingesting cannabis is due to another chemical compound in the plant called tetrahydrocannabinol or THC. But why is CBD important? The human body has a vast network of receptors, the endocannabinoid system, which plays a key role in keeping everything in your body balanced and running smoothly. CBD can augment the effects of the naturally occurring compounds in our bodies called endocannabinoids, part of our body’s endocannabinoid system.

Which CBD Product Should You Use?

It’s important to choose the right products depending on your goals. If you want a localized CBD boost then topicals are the way to go. With topicals, the lotion or balm reaches specific endocannabinoid receptors in localized areas. This means topicals are great for athletes or post gym. If you have an injury and want relief to that specific area, go with a topical. If you’re looking to have a full body CBD boost, you should try a different product like oil or gummies.

Both oils and gummies are ingestibles. But what is the difference? This can be an important distinction depending on how you want CBD to work for you. Gummies are broken down in the digestive system which means the CBD is released much slower. It also takes longer for the CBD to take effect when eating gummies. This is the preferred method for consumers who are using CBD as a daily pick me up in the morning or at night to chill out. They don’t mind the slow release effect since it’s meant to sustain them throughout the day. Oils, on the other hand, when applied under the tongue take effect right away. Another reason to use oils instead of gummies is versatility. If you want the option to take CBD sublingually or in food & drink, then oils are your best option. When taken with food or in a drink, oils have the same delivery as gummies so oil products can be the most adaptable to varying situations and lifestyles.

Dosing?

This is one of the most common questions we get, but it can also be the most difficult. We always suggest starting low and graduating higher. When thinking about how much CBD someone needs, it’s important to take into consideration the total milligrams per CBD product. It’s also important to know that it takes a couple of usages to understand the benefits.

A bottle of CBD oil and edibles will list the total number of Milligrams of CBD in that particular product. Our concentrations include 250, 300, 500, 1000, 2000, and 3000mg of CBD. To calculate the strength of serving, divide the number of milligrams in a bottle by the number of servings.

For our oils, each tincture contains 30mL of liquid and each full dropper is equivalent to 1mL, leaving us with 30 total servings. For gummies, each piece contains 10mg of CBD each, and there are 30 pieces per container. Here is a quick visual to see where you stand.

What Are the Effects of CBD?

If CBD doesn’t have the “high” effect associated with THC, you’re probably wondering what it does feel like CBD Day Gummies for Focus in the morning to start their day. On the opposite end, this same feeling can help promote quality sleep, making sleep issues a common reason consumers use CBD Gummies for Sleep with Melatonin.
